Building a strong support network among colleagues and maintaining a consistent routine while on site can also help workers maintain their well-being and job satisfaction.

Familiarity with site-specific equipment, safety protocols, and systems like mine site management software is generally required. Strong resilience, adaptability, and communication skills help workers cope with remote environments and long shifts. These abilities ensure safety, productivity, and well-being in demanding and isolated work conditions.

What is a fly in fly out (FIFO) job in Australia?

Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) jobs in Australia refer to positions where employees are flown to remote work sites, such as mines or oil rigs, for a set period before returning home during their rostered time off. This arrangement is common in industries like mining, oil and gas, and construction, especially in regions where daily commuting isn't practical. FIFO workers typically work long shifts for several days or weeks at a time, followed by an equal or longer period of rest at home.
