Summary: G.A. Richards is looking for an energetic and creative Application Developer to join our team. Under general supervision, this role primarily develops and maintains web-based applications and software tools that automate business processes across all aspects of the organization. In addition to core application development, this role collaborates closely with design and operational engineers to interface software solutions with control systems and PLC hardware across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate maintains a sharp software focus while leveraging a basic understanding of hardware, controls, and PLC integration to drive operational efficiencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Full Stack Developer - designs and develops computer programs that automate specific business processes. Develops applications that touches all aspects of our manufacturing operations.
Creative and responsive developer.
Ability to effectively discuss/document application requirements with internal/external customers.
Prepares flow charts, writes application instructions and procedures for users, debugs and documents programs.
Establish wiring design, cabinet layouts, and installation of cabinet components (relays, terminal strips, surge suppressors, PLC components, Power Supplies, Fiber Optic Termination, CAT 5, and CAT 6).
May assist lower level developers with the design and development of business applications.
May assist senior developers in the development of programs of a more complex nature.
Handles new and changing priorities with professionalism and is willing to relocate to other business units when urgent needs arise
Work collaboratively under general supervision with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers, IT, and other internal staff to understand operational processes.
Requirements
Other Qualifications:
• Control Disciplines & Platforms: APC, DCS, PLC (Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc, Siemens, Direct Automation), and SCADA.
• Programming & Scripting Languages: C#, JavaScript Libraries (Vue, Angular, JQuery), HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, Python, PowerShell, .NET Framework, and MVC/Web API.
• Development Tools & IDEs: Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Vuetify, AXIOS, Vuex Store, and NPM. Databases: MS SQL Server, TSQL, and Pervasive.
• Project Management & Cloud Infrastructure: YouTrack, GitLab (SVN), Git, AWS, and WordPress.
• Specialized Software & Protocols: CAD, SolidWorks, Signal R, Crystal Reports, Bartender Label Making Software, RFID, and EDI.
• Robotic Systems: Familiarity with robotic controls and single/multi-axis linear actuated robotic transfer systems.
• Experience with taking business requirements and transforming them into technical design
• Knowledge of manufacturing environment

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; and 2-4 years of experience in a business environment
