Job description

We are seeking a full-time, remote Medical Cost Projection Analyst. This position is responsible for supporting the Sr. Director of Risk Actuarial Services to ensure product profitability through the analysis of claims data and historical contract performance and support creation of processes and tools utilized in those activities.   

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for lifetime medical cost planning for injured workers on an accurate and timely basis.
  • Participate in the improvement of the process surrounding the estimation of lifetime medical costs.
  • Support the actuarial function with regards to data analysis of medical claims using database in programming tools.
  • Create visually appealing and accurate deliverables, including self-service capabilities.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and develop business questions for analytic investigation and modeling.
  • Utilize applicable data/analytical tools to extract and analyze data (e.g., R, SQL, Excel, Power BI)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency and experience designing and running complex data programs, (e.g., extract and analyze data via R, SAS,SQL, Python, VBA).
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Power BI or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience in workers’ compensation.
  • 5+ years of experience with health care claims data and analyses.
  • Experience collaborating with cross functional teams.
