The Fluoroscopy Technologist will operate advanced imaging equipment to provide real-time X-ray guidance during spinal procedures and injections. We have an opportunity for a Fluoroscopy Technologist at our OrthoCarolina Spine office.
The Fluoroscopy Technologist will operate advanced imaging equipment to provide real-time X-ray guidance during spinal procedures and injections. This role partners closely with orthopedic surgeons to ensure precise imaging, minimize radiation exposure, and promote the highest standards of patient safety and care.
Essential Functions:

  • Operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment (C-arm) to provide real-time visualization during spine procedures including injections.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to ensure accurate positioning, imaging quality, and procedural efficiency.
  • Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety standards.
  • Prepare procedure room, ensure proper equipment functionality, and troubleshoot imaging technology as needed.
  • Assist with patient positioning and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.
  • Accurately document imaging procedures and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong proficiency in fluoroscopy and advanced imaging techniques.
  • Knowledge of spinal anatomy and procedural workflows within orthopedic settings
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Technical proficiency with PACS and Epic.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
  • Experience with fluoroscopy in orthopedic, surgical, or pain management settings preferred
  • Professional license or certification requirements:
  • Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.
  • Current CPR certification recommended.

A Typical Day:
A typical day involves working alongside spine surgeons in procedural settings. The technologist prepares and calibrates fluoroscopy equipment, ensures all safety protocols are in place, and assists with patient positioning. Throughout procedures, they provide real-time imaging guidance to support precise needle placement and device positioning, while continuously monitoring radiation exposure. Between cases, they collaborate with clinical staff, document imaging records, and prepare for upcoming procedures.
