Job description

Service Technician Trainee

Western Pump, Inc., the leading Southern California petroleum contractor, is currently searching for Service Technician Trainees to join our Southern California team. The candidate must have mechanical and electrical experience. Electronics experience a plus.

Requirements:

  • 2 years Mechanical and Electrical experience, A.A. Automotive Repair, Mechanical Repair or Electronics - Technology, or certification in same is preferred.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnostic repair.
  • Hands on Mechanical and Electrical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Focused, willing to learn and able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong, effective verbal and written English communication skills are essential.
  • Must be available to be On Call for after hours schedule and capable of successfully completing work in an efficient and effective manner.

Summary:

Performs repairs and maintenance on UST/AST System components at Retail/Commercial fueling facilities. Such components may include: Dispensers, Pumps, Controllers, POS consoles, Printers, Fuel Management Systems, Tanks and Tank hardware, Compressors, Filters, Tank level monitors/Leak detection equipment, Lighting and Electrical systems, Valves, Piping and Fluid conveying systems, Air motors, Hoists and Jacks, Day tanks, industrial controls, meters and registers, and other electro/mechanical equipment. Studies and passes written exams in proctored exam test setting for key certifications required to perform work in the regulated environment.
