As an Installation Specialist (Service Tech II) within the Fluid Solutions division at United Rentals, you'll use your skills to perform various applications of bypass installations, teardowns and minor repairs of HDPE pipe in a safe and professional manner. You will be responsible for HDPE pipe fusion, bypass installations and teardowns, as well as operating various equipment, including lulls, forklifts, fusion machines, and pumps, while collaborating with your assigned team. Every day, you can improve and challenge yourself, and if you have the desire and ambition, you'll have the potential to work towards higher level Tech roles in our Service Department. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.
What you'll do:
  • Perform installation / teardown documentation or DJE's
  • Fabricate and assemble polyethylene pipe (HDPE) to create a variety of customized structures as required per each job site
  • Travel to customer sites
  • Operate equipment in various construction environments
  • Demonstrate bypass startups for customers
  • Regularly attend safety meetings and trainings
  • Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry
  • HDPE pipe fusion experience preferred but not necessary; training will be provided
  • Basic understanding of pumps of different sizes, capacities, and manufacturers is beneficial but not required
  • 80-95% travel required, with the ability to be away from home for extended periods, potentially lasting several weeks
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs. frequently
