Job description

Sunbelt Supply is a global provider of flow control solutions. We maintain one of the largest and most diversified selections of valves, actuators, actuation accessories and specialty PFF in North America, comprised of more than 50 major manufacturers. We provide in-house valve automation services, including CAD design and drawings, machine, fabrication, assembly shops featuring CNC machinery, and automation repair work. Sunbelt Supply is also an authorized Automation Service Center for Velan, Bettis and Limitorque and many more.

Job Information

Operates in the field, on-call or provides technical support to assigned customers. Installs, configures, performs problem determination and maintains products and equipment at customer sites, following blueprints and manufacturer's instructions, utilizing product and technical knowledge of equipment. Repairs or coordinates repair of worn or defective products or equipment. Perform skilled, technical work in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair for assigned product or process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides expertise related to product implementation and continued service
  • Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems
  • Install, set-up,and commission MOV’s, AOV’s, HOV’s
  • Provides technical solutions and design implementations for products and services
  • Builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies equipment, parts, components and assemblies
  • Evaluates performance and reliability of materials
  • Diagnoses and reports malfunctions
  • Learns and understands particular technical equipment; attends training and completes certification as required

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in flow control automation applications
  • Electrical controls experience a plus
  • Pneumatic controls experience a plus
  • Applicable Industrial electrical experience (controls)
  • Applicable Industrial Mechanical experience (rotating equipment)
  • Applicable NCCER certified in multiple areas a plus
  • Applicable TDLR license a plus

Physical Demands

  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Occasionally balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl

Work Environment

  • 98% of work is @ customer site, Refineries, Pipeline, Chemical plants, occasional offshore
  • Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as heat, hard to reach areas, dust, fumes, or odors.
  • Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).
  • Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.
