Key responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining the golf course by performing tasks such as mowing, grass trimming, seeding, sodding, planting trees and flowers, changing cups, and preparing the course for daily play.

  • Perform golf course maintenance activities including trash pick-up, bunker raking, landscaping, watering landscaped areas, and other duties as directed by the assistant superintendent.

  • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment while working outdoors in various weather conditions and handling equipment and tools.

Job description

Summary Assist in maintaining a municipal golf course, including but not limited to, mowing greens, tees, fairways and rough; grass trimming; seeding, sodding and planting trees and flowers; changing cups; and preparing course for daily play. Applications will be reviewed and open positions filled as they are received. Work schedule: Schedule will vary.

Some positions are dedicated to a weekend only schedule. Essential Duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: May perform any of these typical golf course maintenance tasks: Trash and litter pick-up from the course. Mowing of greens, tees, fairways and rough using powered equipment.

Grass trimming using string trimmers and rotary lawn mowers. Raking bunkers with a powered rake. Changing cups and preparing the course for daily play.

Landscaping with hand tools. Laying sod, seeding, planting trees and planting flowers. Assist in the watering of newly landscaped areas.

Help maintain a clean and safe work environment. Other golf course maintenance activities as directed by the assistant superintendent. Maintain and foster an environment, which facilitates the Exceeding Expectations professional, responsive, leaders) philosophy of the City.

Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a valid driver's license. Minimum age of 16. Environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job.
