Job description

We are looking for a Floral Merchandiser to manage and merchandise floral displays for Kennicott Brothers. You will be responsible for ensuring the floral departments in our partner-retail chains are visually appealing, well-stocked, clean and maintained, and aligned with company standards. This role focuses on product presentation ,freshness, and customer satisfaction. This position will partner with KBC leadership to develop and execute seasonal merchandising strategies that enhance the shopping experience. The goal is to increase sales and profitability of business to drive sustainable growth.
You must have experience in understanding a B2B customer's needs and the selling environment within the floral catagory. We also want the individual to have a commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles. Exceptional communication skills are also key for floral merchandisers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Stock and rotate floral displays to maintain freshness and product quality.
  • Create attractive and seasonal floral arrangements and displays.
  • Follow planograms and merchandising guidelines to set up new displays.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking with vendors or management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the floral department.
  • Remove expired or damaged products in accordance with KBC policy.
  • Collaborate with store teams on promotional events and store openings.
  • Take photos of displays and complete daily merchandising reports.
  • Ensure appropriate signage is requested and displayed.

Preferred Skills:
  • Basic floral design skills.
  • Knowledge of plant care and flower varieties.
  • Previous Experience in floral merchandising, floral design, or retail merchandising preferred.
  • Familiarity with retail merchandising systems or reporting apps.
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to stores

Requirements
  • Experience with floral merchandising best practices
  • Basic flower & plant knowledge
  • Understanding of category management fundamentals
  • Strong eye for detail, color coordination, and visual presentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficient in Word & Powerpoint
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Good communication & people skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to stores

Preferred Skills:
  • Basic floral design skills.
  • Knowledge of plant care and flower varieties.
  • Previous Experience in floral merchandising, floral design, or retail merchandising preferred.
  • Familiarity with retail merchandising systems or reporting apps.

Preferred Location We have two openings and are looking for candidates who live in or near the following areas:
  • Northwest Suburbs: Niles, Melrose Park, Prospect Heights, Schaumburg, or Waukegan
  • Chicago: Logan Square, Irving Park, or Belmont Cragin neighborhoods
