The environment is collaborative and hands-on, offering opportunities to learn about floral design, farm operations, and customer service. The Freckled Flower Farm values reliability, creativity, and a welcoming experience for every visitor.


Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Floral Designer role located in Montpelier, VA. The Floral Designer will create custom flower arrangements for retail orders, events, and special occasions, following design guidelines and client preferences. Day-to-day tasks include selecting and preparing flowers, assembling bouquets and arrangements, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and caring for floral inventory. The role involves assisting customers in person, answering questions about products, and providing recommendations that reflect the farm’s style and standards. The Floral Designer will also take and maintain orders, such as answering inquiries and taking orders over the phone, processing transactions on Square, keeping our orders up to date with website, walkup, & phone orders, preparing orders for pickup or delivery, and helping with visual merchandising in the flower cooler.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in Floral Design and creating Flower Arrangements suitable for a variety of occasions.
  • Strong Customer Service abilities, including clear communication and a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Creativity Skills to develop unique, aesthetically pleasing designs that align with the farm’s brand.
  • Sales skills to assist customers with product selection, upselling when appropriate, and handling point-of-sale transactions.
  • Ability to work on-site, stand for extended periods, and safely handle floral materials and tools.
  • Attention to detail and time management skills to complete multiple orders accurately and on schedule.
  • Previous experience in a floral shop, event design, or related field is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to work some weekends, holidays, or peak seasons as needed.
