As a Marine Mechanical Systems Technician, you will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in the design and integration of marine mechanical systems, including propulsion, hydraulics, HVAC, water distribution networks, fuel systems, lubrication systems, and auxiliary systems.
- Produce installation, assembly, and fabrication drawings.
- Select appropriate mechanical components (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, piping, supports) based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with the structural team and ensure effective spatial coordination within vessels.
- Apply fluid mechanics principles, including pressure, flow rate, and pressure loss calculations.
- Work in compliance with safety, material, and manufacturing standards.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Has three (3) years or less of relevant experience.
- Is proficient with AutoCAD.
- Has an interest in or experience with Rhino and Inventor.
- Understands technical drawings, including process flow diagrams, arrangement drawings, and piping isometrics.
- Is eager to learn maritime classification rules and standards such as Bureau Veritas, Transport Canada, and Lloyd's Register.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and autonomy.
- Exhibits a collaborative mindset and strong teamwork skills.
