Medical Laboratory Scientists in the Histocompatibility Laboratory perform high-complexity testing that supports solid organ transplantation. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform and interpret specialized laboratory testing, including molecular HLA typing, antibody testing, and flow cytometry. The HLA laboratory plays a critical role in transplant candidate evaluation, donor compatibility assessment, and organ allocation decisions.
Responsibilities
Performs high complexity histocompatibility testing and related functions including molecular typing, antibody monitoring, and flow cytometry that regularly require a professional level of knowledge to execute, interpret, and/or analyze. Participates in on-call rotation.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited college or university Required

Licenses and Certifications
  • MLS - Medical Lab Scientist (Formally MT Certification) Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP (or equivalent organization), within 1-1/2 Yrs Required or
