Job description

Full-Time Floral Assistant & Driver

Walter Knoll Florist - O'Fallon Team Location: 2516 Highway K, O'Fallon, MO 63368

Are you looking for a dynamic role where every day brings something new? We are looking for a dedicated, full-time team member to join the Walter Knoll Florist family at our O'Fallon neighborhood flower shop.

If you enjoy the challenge of becoming an active part of your community, interacting with clients, and being surrounded by beautiful floral creations, this is a great opportunity for you.

The Role: Four Main Pillars

Your 40-hour work week will be divided into four essential areas to keep our neighborhood store running smoothly:

  • Design: You will put flowers together based on standard recipes and customer preferences, creating beautiful bouquets and arrangements for all occasions.

  • Sales: You will assist walk-in clients and answer phones, helping customers select the perfect flowers. This includes entering order specifications into our computer system, processing payments, and providing cheerful, professional service.

  • Display & Operations: This is the heartbeat of the client experience. It includes housekeeping tasks like sweeping floors, taking out the trash, and managing the cash drawer. A major part of this role is receiving fresh flowers, prepping them, pricing them, and organizing them in the cooler so they are clean and ready for design work or customer selection.

  • Delivery: You will be a professional driver of our company van, safely handing our products to clients. Deliveries go to residences, businesses, hospitals, and funeral homes. This also includes driving to our main store in midtown St. Louis to select and pack wholesale goods to bring back to the O'Fallon store.

Schedule & Working Conditions
  • Full-Time Only: 40 hours per week, 5 days a week.

  • Saturdays Required: Saturday is historically our busiest day of the week; being a florist means working almost every Saturday.

  • Environment: Work is performed both in-store (sales floor and cooler environments) and on the road in all weather conditions.

  • Physical Demands: Requires frequent lifting, walking, and bending. You must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally (most deliveries range from 5 to 15 pounds).

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willingness to learn the floral part of the business is a must.

  • Experience in driving professionally or in a delivery role is preferred.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Missouri Class E Chauffeur License (or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire).

  • Must have a personal cell phone to support GPS navigation and delivery logging (a stipend/reimbursement is provided).

  • Strong knowledge of both the O'Fallon area and St. Louis, as our trucks cover the entire metropolitan area.

  • Capable of working independently on the road while following strict delivery timelines and protocols.

  • Comfortable using a point-of-sale computer system and learning about floral products.

  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.

  • Punctual and reliable.

What We Provide
  • Company uniforms to maintain a clean, professional appearance.

  • Complete training on delivery protocols, vehicle operation, floral processing, and customer service standards.

  • A welcoming, creative, and community-focused neighborhood store environment
