Job description

SUMMARY
The Delivery Driver is a temporary Eagle Staffing Solutions employee assigned to My Lady's Florist. The driver is responsible for safely transporting and delivering floral arrangements throughout Metro Detroit, protecting delicate products, completing required delivery documentation, and providing a professional and friendly customer experience. Drivers report to My Lady's Florist, 1155 S Wayne Rd, Westland, MI 48186. Pay rate: $14.00 per hour.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Prior delivery, route-driving, floral, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history are required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently while representing the customer in the field.
Must be able to communicate independently in English with customers, dispatchers, and shop employees.
Must be comfortable using a company smartphone, delivery app, email/login credentials, live location, and photo-upload requirements.
Must follow My Lady's Florist delivery procedures and Eagle Staffing Solutions employment policies.
Must complete customer-provided training on floral handling, route procedures, app usage, photographic proof, troubleshooting, and shop support tasks. Training typically includes
approximately three guided/ride-along days and may extend up to one week based on individual readiness.
DOCUMENTATION
Route sheets, delivery photographs, app-based proof of delivery, and any required delivery or vehicle documentation.
KNOWLEDGE
Basic knowledge of safe driving practices, route navigation, delivery instructions, and customer-service expectations.
Ability to learn proper floral handling, loading methods, delivery documentation, and company app procedures.
REQUIRED ABILITIES
Safely operate a company-provided delivery van over local and Metro Detroit routes.
Read and follow route sheets, addresses, delivery notes, and changing dispatcher instructions.
Handle delicate floral arrangements carefully during loading, transport, and delivery.
Use GPS/navigation, smartphone applications, live location, and photo-upload functions.
Work independently, use sound judgment, and contact the shop when an issue cannot be resolved.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The following duties are representative of the primary duties and responsibilities of this role. The employee may be required to perform additional position-specific duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Clock in and out through the customer's GotFlowers system and check in with the employee preparing delivery routes.
Receive and review the route sheet and confirm delivery instructions before leaving the shop.
When routes are not yet ready, assist with trained shop tasks such as boxing arrangements or taking pre-delivery photographs.
Load floral arrangements into the company van using the shop's system to secure and protect delicate arrangements; loading generally takes approximately 20-30 minutes.
Complete assigned routes safely and efficiently while remaining responsive to dispatcher changes and live-tracking updates.
Typical delivery volume is approximately 30 orders during an eight-hour day, although route volume may vary based on business and seasonal needs.
Provide a professional, friendly handoff to recipients; deliveries may require brief customer interaction rather than a simple package drop.
Photograph each completed delivery and upload required proof through the delivery app, including the recipient/order ticket, address, and floral arrangement as required.
Call the shop promptly when an order, customer, location, app, or documentation issue cannot be resolved independently.
Return the company vehicle to the shop, refuel it using the company gas card, remove personal items, and leave the vehicle clean and ready for the next driver.

WORK SCHEDULE
Work is normally scheduled Monday through Saturday. Sunday work may occur during major floral holidays such as Mother's Day.
Typical shift options discussed are approximately 9:00 a.m.-2:00/3:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., or 2:00-8:00 p.m. Final schedule will be based on assignment needs.
Overtime may occur during high-volume holiday periods. Flexibility is required based on business needs.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all traffic laws, safe-driving practices, customer vehicle procedures, and Eagle Staffing Solutions safety requirements.
Complete a pre-use visual check of the assigned vehicle and promptly report safety, mechanical, accident, or damage concerns.
Use reasonable care when loading, transporting, and unloading floral arrangements, particularly in stairs, hills, parking areas, and winter conditions.
Do not use a handheld phone while driving; safely stop the vehicle before addressing app, route, or communication issues when required.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Combination of florist/shop environment and extensive driving throughout Metro Detroit.
Delivery routes may extend up to approximately 50 miles one way, with some days totaling roughly 200 driving miles.
Regular exposure to changing weather, traffic, parking conditions, stairs, and outdoor walking conditions.
Work pace and route volume may increase significantly around major floral holidays.
