Floral AssociatePart-Time Dierbergs Markets
Floral Associates care for the flowers and plants in the department while creating floral arrangements in a timely manner with thought, style, and expertise. Their creativity flourishes and they can carry out a variety of responsibilities :
  • Receive, sort and rotate cut flowers, bouquets and arrangements
  • Promote merchandise and utilize suggestive selling techniques to satisfy customer's needs
  • Create simple corsages, boutonnieres and floral arrangements
  • Operate cash register and computer systems while processing all forms of payment (gift cards, checks, credits, debits and floral charges)
  • Process customer orders for in-store purchases and delivery
  • Accurately convey orders taken in writing for designers
  • Arrange store merchandise to best showcase our creative selection of flowers, plants and gifts
  • Use equipment such as a knife, helium tank, foliage stripper, shears, sealer gun, hot glue gun, etc.
  • Keep work area sanitary by using company approved cleaners and equipment

Essentials
  • At least 16 years of age
  • Ability to work in varied temperature-controlled environments (36-degree cooler) and tolerate a high-pollen and seed-spore environment
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Read basic information (ex: company policies and procedures)
  • Ability to keep your work area safe and clean using company-approved equipment
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule that includes weekends and holidays
  • Prompt and regular attendance based on your schedule
  • Adherence to our dress code, appearance, and personal hygiene standards
  • Work independently
  • May be cross trained in other departments

Physical Requirements
  • Lifting & Carrying - Up to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Pushing & Pulling - Up to 20 lbs force occasionally
