Job description

Step into a fulfilling contract role as a skilled RN supporting students in a dynamic school environment near Warwick, RI. This opportunity lets you make a significant impact by providing essential health services both as a 1:1 nurse and as a floating nurse across different settings. The position begins August 27, 2026, and runs through June 11, 2027, offering a stable, meaningful assignment through the school year.
Your role will involve working closely with students who need dedicated 1:1 care, as well as filling in as a floating nurse to address broader health needs throughout the school. You may occasionally accompany students on the bus, ensuring their safety and health from home to classroom and back.
Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Current and unencumbered RN license in Rhode Island
  • Previous experience in a school nursing or pediatric setting preferred
  • Ability to provide compassionate, attentive care to students with varying medical needs
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills
  • Comfort with 1:1 nursing, as well as floating assignments and adapting to different routines
  • Willingness to participate in bus rides as needed to safeguard student wellbeing
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver 1:1 nursing care to students in accordance with individual health plans
  • Respond promptly to health incidents and emergencies as a floating nurse
  • Administer medication, conduct routine medical procedures, and track health records
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support holistic care
  • Maintain accurate, confidential health documentation
  • Monitor students during transportation, ensuring safety and readiness to respond as needed
