Summary/objective

The Universal Member Service Representative โ€“ Float position acquires and maintains member relationships through exceptional member service by opening accounts and offering relevant products and services that meet the memberโ€™s needs including consumer loans. This versatile role ensures smooth operations by stepping in to cover for other Universal Member Service Representatives during their absence, helping maintain exceptional member service and branch performance. Ensure members and potential members are serviced efficiently and accurately.

Essential functions

  • Greet and direct members
  • Assist members with questions regarding account/products by phone or in person
  • Responding to member and potential member inquiries
  • Assist with balancing and detailing (cash drawer, recycler, coin machine and vault as scheduled - daily, weekly, etc.)
  • Reconcile all ITM accepted negotiable items against reports for accuracy - weekly, if applicable
  • Maintain and update members accounts
  • Accurately open and close all types of accounts (IRAโ€™s, certificates, and business accounts), while ensuring required forms and records are completed in compliance with internal policies and statutory regulations.
  • Order/count cash โ€“ if applicable
  • Maintain Safe Deposit boxes โ€“ if applicable
  • Ensure all audit and security policies and procedures are followed
  • Scan negotiable items and other member documents
  • Process night drop deposits and payments
  • Distribute and process incoming mail
  • Verify and balance Gift cards
  • Process check orders
  • Filing, shredding, etc.
  • Assist Branch Manager and other team members
  • Keep lobby stocked and straighten
  • Assemble new membership account packets

  • Successfully complete internal training โ€“ Advanced Basics of Products and Services; Sales and Service Strategies training, Teller Supervisor Training, UMSR Training

Additional eligibility requirements

This position requires registration as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Lending System (NMLS) and registry on an annual basis in addition to maintaining updates as needed. Must be registered and approved by the NMLS registry within sixty days of hire date. Failure to register or maintain a current registry, or any criminal activity that would bar continued participation as a MLO may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
