Job description

ROLE : PUBLIC WORKS FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT MANAGER

Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Onsite)

Compensation: Up to $130,000 DOE

Licensure: Arizona PE required | CFM required or ability to obtain within 6 months

Position Overview:

This leadership role focuses on public works and flood control projects involving hydrology and hydraulics, FEMA studies, drainage master planning, and surface water systems. The Project Manager will lead technical execution, client development, and team oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead water resources and flood control projects from concept through completion

- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis

- Oversee FEMA studies, floodplain mapping, and ADMS/P projects

- Review 1D and 2D hydraulic models and engineering calculations

- Supervise preparation of design reports and construction documents

- Develop scopes of work and prepare cost proposals

- Negotiate contracts and manage project budgets and schedules

- Participate in business development and client marketing efforts

- Mentor and develop engineering staff

- Apply FLO-2D and other modeling tools to project execution

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required

- Arizona Professional Engineer license required

- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or ability to obtain within 6 months

- Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling

- Experience with FEMA studies and floodplain mapping

- Knowledge of FLO-2D software

- Strong leadership and client communication skills
