About the Opportunity:
Our client has exciting new work implementing and testing flight software for the Sierra Space Dream Chaser vehicle as a part of the NASA International Space Station Commercial Resupply Services Contract (ISS CRS-2). These opportunities span multiple systems and disciplines (e.g., flight software, GNC, testing, simulation) specific to successful development of an International Space Station visiting vehicle. They are seeking talented individuals with the desire to further space exploration.
This opportunity is for a full-time Flight Software Engineer to support our client's continued growth in the Houston, TX area.
Job Description:
A qualified candidate will be innovative, analytical, and excited to further space exploration through their work on practical and impactful projects such as Dream Chaser, Orion, other Commercial Crew and Cargo, and Exploration Programs.
Duties:
Implementing spacecraft flight software applications, space vehicle software architecture, space vehicle systems and subsystems, and device drivers and interfaces. This work utilizes modern C/C++ software development methods and practices.
Required:
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident due to government contract requirements
  • BS or MS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar degree program
  • Experience with modern C/C++ development methods and practices
  • Experience with Python
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment

Desired:
  • Experience with development of NASA Class A flight software
  • Experience with Linux and Linux-based software development
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle and practices
