DESCRIPTION OF POSITION / DUTIES:

All Points is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to support the Omnibus Multidiscipline Engineering Services (OMES) III contract at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

This major engineering services program supports next-generation spaceflight and science missions, including initiatives within the Joint Polar Satellite System and Exploration & In-Space Services divisions.

The selected candidate will support the design, development, integration, testing, and verification of mission-critical flight software for space-based systems and embedded applications supporting NASA missions.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Support full lifecycle flight software development from requirements through software acceptance testing
  • Develop, modify, integrate, and test real-time embedded flight software applications
  • Support software verification and validation activities in coordination with software assurance teams
  • Participate in requirements analysis, technical reviews, software integration, and troubleshooting activities
  • Support development activities utilizing established flight software engineering processes and industry standards
  • Perform software development activities within multi-disciplinary engineering teams supporting NASA missions
  • Maintain technical documentation, software artifacts, and engineering deliverables
  • Support mission integration, testing, and operational readiness activities

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

SKILLS / CERTIFICATIONS Required Experience & Skills:
  • Experience with established software engineering processes supporting flight or embedded software development
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as NASA NPR 7150.2, AS9100, MIL-STD-498, J-STD-016, IEEE 12207, or similar standards-based software development methodologies
  • Experience supporting the full software development lifecycle from requirements through software acceptance testing
  • Experience with real-time embedded software development
  • Experience with priority-based, multi-tasking real-time operating systems, including Linux, VxWorks, RTEMS, or similar environments
  • Experience developing software in C, C++, and/or ADA
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Unix shell scripting
  • Experience working with microprocessor-based hardware and interfaces including RAD750, GR712RC, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, SpaceWire, RS-232, and RS-422
  • Experience supporting Software Quality Assurance (SQA) and/or Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) activities
Desired Experience & Skills:
  • Experience supporting spacecraft or space-based mission programs
  • Flight software experience supporting NASA or aerospace systems
  • Software acquisition experience
  • Experience with DOORS requirements management tools
  • Experience with TDMS or similar data/document management systems
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • NASA Public Trust / badging required
COMPENSATION
  • $95,000 – $110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
