Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Flight Test Technician 4 to join the team of qualified individuals on our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located onsite inEdwards AFB, CA.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Test, troubleshooting, removal, installation, modification, and maintenance of aerospace systems including, but not limited to fuel, hydraulics, ECS, flight controls, propulsion, landing gear, CNI, and ground support equipment.
  • Operate ground equipment, aerospace systems checkout, perform pre and post-use inspections, service fuel, lubrication, cooling, and other requirements as necessary.
  • Read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions to fabricate and assemble necessary fixtures and/or components.
  • Other responsibilities may include the application of materials, appliques, coatings, decals, primer, and paint.
  • Other responsibilities include: Conducting tests and reporting data in the prescribed format, using predetermined methods, sequences, and setups to inspect or test specific equipment or products.
  • Willingness to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Must have electrical experience
  • Must have the ability to lift 30lbs
  • Must have Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be willing and able to work extended shifts, other shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by the company to meet program schedule and objectives.
  • Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical
  • Must be able to pass an Eye Exam

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Developmental or Operational test experience
  • Mix of back shop and flightline maintenance experience
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management and/or Mission Assurance concepts
  • Ability to lead and train lower-level employees
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $131,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
