Job Description

Position: Sr Systems Engineer

Duration: 11/21/2016 to 05/20/2017

Location: Phoenix, AZ

The desired candidate will contribute to a team of systems engineers responsible for the overall systems engineering activities related to requirements verification & validation. Responsibilities include:
Understanding system and software requirements
Supporting the software development team
Supporting the software verification team
Coordination and resolution of design and implementation issues with software/hardware requirements
Coordination and resolution of design and implementation issues with Flight Controls System Interfaces
System/hardware/software verification of the system
Investigation and resolution of Hardware/software Integration issues
Investigation and review of customer issues and desired enhancements
The individual will perform verification and validation activities in the very near term for B787 program.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to interface with the customer, certification agencies, third party suppliers, global resources, and with peers such as hardware and software engineers.
Basic Qualifications Required:
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
Minimum of 6 years of experience related to flight control system development or verification
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident due to export control requirements
Additional Qualifications Desired:
Advanced degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering preferred.
System development and test experience with flight control systems in a flight test environment a plus
Experience working in a technical position that interfaces with customers as well as internal and external suppliers desired
Experience with avionics and flight controls certification requirements a plus
Proven ability to define, investigate and solve complex technical problems within schedule, budget and resource constraints
Experience with developing System Level requirements, as well as software/hardware requirements a plus
Experience with verification and validation of System, Software and Hardware requirements preferred
Systems engineering experience within a Flight Controls
Proficiency with linear and non-linear modeling tools (Matlab/Simulink preferred) with a demonstrated ability to develop, maintain and work with complex systems
Experience debugging/testing avionics systems via simulation & hardware-in-loop lab environments desired
Technical background/proficiency in avionics, particularly FBW and/or Auto flight systems
Integration and test experience in lab or flight test environments
Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen/perm resident
