Drop of Life Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who possesses a strong background in geriatric mental health. This remote position allows you to provide critical mental health support to seniors facing various challenges, such as loss, transitional life phases, and age-related issues. Work Environment

This position offers a flexible remote work setting, utilizing telehealth platforms to interact with clients. Our digital-first approach ensures that counseling is accessible and convenient for both clients and clinicians. The work is predominantly conducted from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM, with occasional evening or weekend sessions to accommodate client needs and ensure comprehensive support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized treatment plans while also providing consultation to guide pre-crisis or crisis intervention strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring all clinical records reflect the highest standards of care.
  • Utilize evidence-based screening tools as determined by the clinical team to evaluate clientsโ€™ mental health status effectively.
  • Collaborate actively with interdisciplinary teams to create and enforce positive behavior support plans tailored to each clientโ€™s unique circumstances.
  • Participate in licensing and accreditation processes, demonstrating commitment to continuous improvement and quality assurance.
  • Serve as a key liaison for clients and relevant service systems, including state agencies and community partners, enhancing resource access and client engagement.
  • Foster strong communication channels to ensure alignment with contract standards and to advance the organization's mission within the community.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with various local, state, and federal agencies to promote services and explore potential partnerships or funding opportunities.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enrich personal skills and contribute to the agency's visibility and outreach efforts, including attendance at conferences and participation in statewide meetings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on seniors dealing with mental health issues associated with aging, including but not limited to grief, anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders. By providing tailored, culturally sensitive counseling, you will play a vital role in enhancing their emotional resilience and overall mental health.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
  • At least 4 years of recent experience working with geriatric populations, demonstrating expertise in mental health support.
  • Training or specialization in addressing aging-related mental health issues is preferred.
Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will have specific experience working with seniors in a counseling setting and will possess additional certifications or training in geriatric mental health. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and evidence-based practices in the mental health field is highly desirable.
