[About the Role]
Join our team as a Systems Safety Engineer, where your expertise directly impacts engineering rigor and mission safety. In this temp-to-perm opportunity, you'll leverage your advanced safety analysis skills in a remote role with the potential to transition to a permanent position in Syracuse, NY. Collaborate with technical experts and customers, ensuring compliance with leading industry standards and supporting the development of secure, reliable systems.
[Responsibilities]
- Conduct detailed engineering and technical analyses to identify and mitigate system safety risks.
- Prepare comprehensive safety documentation and investigative reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate problem reports for potential safety implications, ensuring proactive risk management.
- Perform SSHAR, SAR, HTS, and FHA analyses in alignment with MIL-STD-882E requirements.
- Participate in and support customer-facing meetings, presenting safety findings and recommendations.
- Contribute to SSTRP activities and continuous process improvements.
[Required Skills and Experience]
- Minimum 15 years of experience as a Safety Engineer or in a related engineering discipline.
- Proficiency in SSHAR, SAR, HTS, and FHA analysis per MIL-STD-882E.
- Strong technical writing skills for documentation and reporting.
- Solid communication skills for effective customer and team interactions.
- U.S. work authorization is required.
[Preferred Skills]
- Previous experience supporting SSTRP or similar technical review processes.
- Familiarity with safety analysis tools and methodologies within defense or aerospace sectors.
- Willingness to relocate to Syracuse, NY upon transition to a permanent role.
