Job description

A fun, relaxed, friendly store that caters primarily to women who love to create. We are a quilt shop specializing in Sewing, quilting and Machine Embroidery sales and service.  Any sewing knowledge you may have is a plus, but not required. Must be willing to learn.  We will be looking for someone who is cheerful and personable, can make customers feel welcomed.  We are a family-owned business.  We offer flexible, full-time work opportunities within a schedule Monday-Saturday. We are military spouse friendly.  Paid time off is available after the first six months.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales and service
  • Assess customer’s needs and provide assistance and information on product features
  • Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries
  • “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
  • Maintain stock and ensure a presentable condition in assigned areas
  • Actively seek out customers in store
  • Remain knowledgeable on products offered to skillfully assist customers
  • Gain knowledge of key products, especially sewing machines through on-line and in-store training
  • Process POS (point of sale) purchases
  • Cross-sell products
  • Handle returns of merchandise
  • Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
  • Build productive trust relationships with customers
  • Comply with inventory control procedures
  • Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s design)
Requirements
  • Proven work experience as a Retail Sales associate, Sales representative or similar role is a plus
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Proficiency in English
  • Basic Math skills
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
  • Availability to work flexible shifts
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs
