Graham Technologies is seeking a highly qualified Data Engineer / Python & SQL Developer to support the design, development, and deployment of data engineering and ETL solutions in a mission-focused environment. This role requires advanced expertise in Python and SQL, with demonstrated experience developing scalable data pipelines, cloud-based integrations, and backend data processing solutions using AWS services. The ideal candidate will also bring strong database design capabilities, technical documentation skills, and experience working within Agile delivery environments. Location: Remote (Preference for Dayton, OH or Washington, DC Metro Area) Key Responsibilities: * Design, develop, enhance, and maintain data pipelines, ETL workflows, and backend data processing solutions using Python and SQL * Implement and support cloud-based data engineering solutions leveraging AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and related AWS services * Design and maintain database schemas, tables, data models, and stored procedures * Apply database design best practices, including normalization, performance optimization, data integrity, and scalable architecture * Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into secure, scalable, and maintainable data solutions * Develop and maintain technical documentation, including solution documentation, interface specifications, data flow diagrams, and operational procedures * Participate in Agile ceremonies and delivery activities, including backlog management, sprint planning, status tracking, and issue resolution using Jira * Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, integration, ETL, and performance issues across the solution environment * Test ETL pipelines and data workflows to validate functionality, reliability, and data quality * Perform peer code reviews for other Data Engineers and provide technical guidance as appropriate * Collaborate with developers, architects, analysts, program leadership, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support successful delivery outcomes * Required Skills: Experience: * Proven advanced or expert-level experience developing solutions using Python and SQL * Hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL pipelines and data workflows * Experience with AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, and related cloud data integration technologies * Experience with database design, schema development, data modeling, table design, and stored procedure scripting * Experience troubleshooting data quality, integration, and performance issues * Experience testing ETL pipelines and conducting code reviews * Consultant/Senior Consultant or USDC/PDM/Specialist equivalent experience Skills: * Strong understanding of database design and data architecture best practices * Strong Python development and SQL scripting capabilities * Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and secure data engineering solutions * Ability to produce clear and structured technical documentation for development and operational use * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment * Desired Skills: Experience: * Prior experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or U.S. Air Force programs * Experience working in complex enterprise data environments with multiple upstream and downstream integrations * Experience supporting mission-oriented technology programs * Experience working within secure or controlled government environments Credentials / Clearance: * Ability to meet applicable government security and access requirements Compensation: At Graham Technologies, we believe in treating everyone with fairness and respect.
