Job description

Position Summary:ย ย 
Theย Maintenance Techย is responsible forย maintainingย the plant machinery inย working order.ย 

Essential Job Functions/Duties:ย 

  • Read / understand operating manuals for plant machinery (steam gen, air comp, wire rollers)
  • Interpret parts manuals for purchasing
  • Identify / troubleshoot electricalย faults in equipment and building
  • Identify / troubleshoot mechanical,ย pneumaticย and hydraulic problems
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment (meters), and hand tools
  • Be proficient with fabrication tools (welding, oxy/acetyl torch)
  • Repair plant equipment (steel forms, machinery, and building)
  • Help develop andย maintainย preventive maintenance schedules
  • Meet safety and housekeeping policy and procedures ย 

Required Qualifications:ย 

  • 2+ย year(s)ย industrial maintenance (mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, fabrication, pneumatic)
  • Some technical training / certifications
  • Must work well independently with little direction
  • Intermediate mathematicย skills
  • English โ€“some Spanish is a plusย 

Critical Skills:ย 

  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisors in meeting production goals
  • Quick thinker / strategic planner / flexible / problem solver
  • Time management,ย demonstrateย a senseย 'urgency'ย 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:ย 

  • Exposed toย high levelsย of concrete dust
  • Work outdoors but may on occasion work indoors. Temperatures may vary due to weather
  • Regularly wear protective attire, such as hard hats and steel-toe boots
  • Exposed to sound and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable
  • Work in extremely bright or very dim lighting conditionsย 

Shift/Hours Expectationsย 

  • Mon โ€“ Fri (weekends when needed)
  • 50 -ย 60 hours/week
  • Possible nightย shift
