Breast Imaging Radiologist (MD/DO)

UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine are seeking Breast Imaging Radiologists (MD/DO) to join our growing team across North Carolina.

UNC Health Johnston – Clayton, NC

  • Outpatient breast imaging practice
  • 100% onsite procedural and diagnostic work
  • Full-time and per diem opportunities available

UNC Health Nash – Rocky Mount, NC

  • Hybrid position combining onsite procedural work and remote diagnostic reads
  • Join an established breast imaging team
  • Full-time and per diem opportunities available

UNC Health Caldwell – Greater Hickory Metro Area, NC

Position Responsibilities:
  • Interpret screening and diagnostic mammography examinations
  • Perform breast imaging procedures, including ultrasound‑guided and stereotactic biopsies
  • Interpret breast MRI and perform MRI‑guided breast biopsies
  • Serve as the lead interpreting physician for breast imaging services, with responsibility for oversight of quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and accreditation of the mammography facility
  • Participate in multidisciplinary breast tumor board conferences in collaboration with surgical, medical, and radiation oncology colleagues
  • Support the implementation and growth of advanced breast imaging services, including contrast‑enhanced mammography
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative partners to support program growth and operational excellence
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • MD or equivalent
  • Board certified or board eligible Radiologist
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of North Carolina
  • MQSA certification
  • Experience with breast imaging procedures, including ultrasound, stereotactic and MRI‑guided
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:
  • Fellowship training in Breast Imaging or equivalent clinical experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Interest or experience in clinical program development in a community‑based setting
