Description

Purpose:

The Robotics Paint Equipment Specialist is responsible for the operation, setup, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of robotic paint application systems and associated support equipment. This position ensures products are painted in accordance with customer specifications, quality standards, production schedules, and safety requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.


Job Summary:

Reporting to the Paint Manager, the Robotics Paint Line Specialist operates and maintains robotic paint systems, including Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) equipment. The Specialist performs equipment setup and changeovers, monitors paint application quality, conducts preventative maintenance, and maintains accurate production and quality records.


The successful candidate possesses a strong understanding of industrial painting processes, robotic automation, paint system operation, and troubleshooting techniques. This position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting production personnel and maintaining compliance with the Company's Quality Management System.


Responsibilities: 

Support the Company's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and Quality Policy through adherence to established procedures and self-inspection of work.

Operate, set up, and perform changeovers of robotic paint application systems (HMI and PLC) to meet production schedules and customer requirements. 

Follow work instructions, change orders, and customer specifications, application paths, and coating thickness requirements

Monitor paint application quality using approved measurement methods and adjust equipment and process parameters as necessary. 

Troubleshoot robotic equipment, paint delivery systems, and automation issues. 

Notify supervision and maintenance personnel of equipment malfunctions requiring repair. 

Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. 

Maintain accurate departmental documentation, including paint travelers, maintenance logs, checklists, and inspection records. 

Safely operates required hand tools and shop equipment. 

Manage parts and inventory of all paint equipment.

Promote a safe work environment by identifying, correcting, and reporting workplace hazards. 

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications:

Working knowledge of industrial painting techniques and paint application systems. 

Understanding robotic programming adjustments and painting path optimization. 

Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills. 

Knowledge of paint viscosity, solids measurement, and coating thickness verification. 

Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance. 

Basic computer skills for data entry and production documentation. 

Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment. 

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 

Experience:

Five to ten years of industrial painting experience. 

Experience operating automated or robotic paint systems preferred. 

Experience with HMI and PLC-controlled equipment preferred.

NACE experience preferred.


Education:

Highschool Diploma or GED

Salary Range: $32.36/hr - $42.07


Location: This position is onsite (non-remote) at the Company's corporate headquarters in Cinnaminson, NJ. This position may occasionally require working overtime and/or working outside of the Company's normal 8:30am - 5:30pm hours of operation.
