Job description

Job Title: Senior AWS Java Developer (Terraform)
LOCATION: Plano TX
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior AWS Java Developer with strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, AWS Cloud, Terraform, Microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications while leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. This role requires expertise in building scalable REST APIs, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and developing secure, highly available applications in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot.
  • Build scalable microservices and RESTful APIs following cloud-native architecture principles.
  • Develop and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
  • Provision and manage AWS resources including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, SNS, and SQS.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployments.
  • Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes/EKS.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Integrate applications with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Amazon SQS.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Develop secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth 2.0, JWT, OpenID Connect, or AWS Cognito.
  • Write unit, integration, and API tests using JUnit, Mockito, Postman, and Rest Assured.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Monitor applications using CloudWatch, Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams.
