Job description

Job Title: IT Infrastructure Project Engineer (Construction & Field Operations)
Role Overview
We are seeking a versatile IT Infrastructure Project Engineer to lead the technical delivery of IT systems for new construction and site expansion projects. In this high-impact role, you will represent IT leadership during the construction lifecycle, overseeing the design and implementation of critical physical infrastructure, including MDF/IDF layouts, structured cabling, and network hardware. You will bridge the gap between project management and technical execution, ensuring that all site technologies-from server rooms and firewalls to security cameras and UPS systems-are integrated, tested, and ready for operational use.
Key Responsibilities
• Technical Site Leadership: Act as the primary IT representative for small-to-mid-scale construction projects. Own the overall delivery of technology for the site, including the design of Main Distribution Frames (MDF), Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF), and structured cabling packages.
• Infrastructure Design & Costing: Contribute to the development of technical diagram packages (Visio) and cost models. Review construction documents to communicate detailed technology infrastructure requirements to contractors and vendors.
• Full-Stack Deployment: Lead the planning, testing, and deployment of site technologies, including LAN operations, network security (firewalls), routers, and server infrastructure. Ensure the seamless integration of hardware that facilitates site-wide functions.
• Advanced Support & Triage: Provide Level 3 technical escalation support for site-specific infrastructure issues. Manage the technology warranty period following project completion to ensure long-term stability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers, Site Infrastructure Managers, and Business Sponsors to prioritize tasks and map technical integration points across various IT teams.
• Documentation & Governance: Ensure all technical integration points are mapped and that comprehensive support documentation and "runbooks" are in place for post-implementation support.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: * 5+ years in a large-scale enterprise environment supporting network, telecommunication, and client/server integration.
• 2+ years specifically supporting infrastructure that enables business software deployment.
• Technical Mastery:
• Moderate-to-advanced understanding of Network Architecture and Server Infrastructure.
• Proficiency in MS Visio and MS Project for infrastructure mapping and scheduling.
• Ability to read and interpret Construction Documents (Blueprints) for IT requirements.
• Communication: Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and outside vendors.
• Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-determination skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects at the task level in a fast-paced environment. Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans
