About the Role

Roots Integrative Medicine is seeking a compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team. We deliver comprehensive primary care across the lifespan (ages 1+) by blending conventional medicine with root-cause, functional, and lifestyle-based strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Clinical Care: Conduct evaluations, perform physical exams, and manage acute/chronic conditions for pediatric (1+) and adult patients.
  • Integrative Treatment Planning: Formulate personalized, root-cause treatment plans using evidence-based conventional care, lifestyle medicine, nutrition, and targeted supplementation.
  • Diagnostics & Procedures: Order and interpret standard and advanced functional lab testing. Perform standard office procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care, Pap smears).
  • Timely Documentation: Maintain accurate EHR records, ensuring patient charts are completed within 24โ€“48 hours of encounters.
  • Shared On-Call Coverage: Participate in a fair rotation for on-call patient messaging (until 8:00 PM on regular workdays; until 5:00 PM on weekends and holidays).
  • Practice Growth & Collaboration: Work closely with physicians and staff while contributing to patient education programs, community outreach, and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted South Carolina FNP license and national board certification.
  • Experience: 1โ€“3+ years in primary care, outpatient, or urgent care preferred; experience or strong interest in functional, gut, metabolic, and hormone health highly valued.
  • Scope: Comfortable and enthusiastic about caring for both pediatric and adult populations.
  • Skills: Excellent clinical judgment, proactive communication, and a commitment to whole-person care.
