Part-Time Temporary Tutor

Position Summary:
Tutors provide academic support to students by reinforcing classroom instruction, reviewing course material, and assisting with homework, projects, and exam preparation. Tutors must be proficient in the subject area(s) in which they provide instruction and be able to communicate concepts in a clear and supportive manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in assigned subject(s).

  • Assist students in understanding course material, improving study skills, and developing effective learning strategies.

  • Adapt explanations and methods to meet the individual learning needs of each student.

  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and performance.

  • Encourage and support students in building confidence and academic independence.

  • Track student progress and communicate concerns or improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in the subject area(s) being tutored.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and relatable way.

  • Prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred but not required.

  • Transcripts or other documentation of coursework and proficiency in the subject area are strongly encouraged.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Flexible scheduling based on student needs.

  • Tutoring may occur in person, online, or in designated learning spaces.
