Program Overview
The Summer High School Credit Recovery Program provides students with a meaningful second chance to stay on track for graduation. Using the Edgenuity digital learning platform, the program offers a flexible, self-paced learning environment supported by a licensed classroom teacher. Rather than leading daily whole-group lessons, teachers serve as learning coaches building relationships, providing targeted instruction, and guiding students toward academic success.
Position Summary
High School Credit Recovery Teachers support students in a lab-based setting as they work through Edgenuity courses. This role emphasizes individualized instruction, academic coaching, and encouragement. Teachers monitor progress, clarify concepts, support motivation, and help students overcome learning barriers. This is an excellent opportunity for educators who enjoy working one-on-one or in small groups and want to make a direct impact on student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and support students as they progress through Edgenuity courses
  • Provide targeted instruction and intervention based on individual student needs
  • Monitor student progress, pacing, and completion of course requirements
  • Encourage positive work habits, persistence, and accountability
  • Facilitate multiple courses and content areas within a structured lab environment
  • Build supportive relationships that motivate students to complete credits successfully
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure a positive and productive learning space

Ideal Candidates
  • Licensed high school teachers in Math, English, Science, or Social Studies
  • Educators who value relationship-based teaching and individualized support
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills in a lab setting
  • Comfort with technology and digital learning platforms (Edgenuity experience preferred but not required)
  • Flexible, patient, and student-centered mindset

Program Information:

  • Student Hours: 8:25 AM - 12:25 PM

Required Qualifications:
  • Teaching license issued from state of Minnesota in area of instruction.
  • Understanding of working with at risk and/or struggling learners
  • A commitment to student success
  • Ability to form relationships with students and families in a short period of time
  • Belief system (demonstrated in words and actions) that all students can learn and be successful
