Work includes installing driver posts, setting/finishing foundations, erecting steel structures, removal and replacement, and finishing earthwork as needed. Work is completed on state highways, expressways, and various commercial applications. Laborers are exposed to various tools and equipment including, but not limited to, bucket trucks, loaders, and digger derricks.  As a Construction Laborer/CDL Driver within the guardrail division you will be responsible for assisting with the installation, repair, and removal of highway guardrail systems and related roadway safety infrastructure. This position works as part of a crew performing physically demanding outdoor work to ensure guardrail systems are installed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.This roles require the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment, follow safety procedures, and collaborate effectively with team members to complete projects on schedule.This is an entry-level position. , any type of outdoor labor or construction work is a plus.Qualifications:Valid Driver's license required, must be insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policy, as regular travel is an essential function of the role.CDL A requiredProblem-solving skillsWorks well in a team environment where situations and demands change daily.Effective Communication SkillsSkills and Experience:Construction ExperienceConstruction Equipment OperationAbility to accurately read a level and a tape measure.Work Requirements:Ability to perform manual labor as required in an outdoor environment in the heat, sun, cold, and rain.This position will require working nights, weekends, and out-of-town to work on projects that could be a week(s) at a time.Physical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the job's essential functions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, climb, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, view, and create written documents. The employee uses hand strength to grasp tools and climb ladders or uneven terrain. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, such as operating and repairing vibrating machinery, using wrenches, hand tools, etc., and operating motorized equipment and vehicles. The employee must lift or push/pull objects up to 75 lbs. without assistance.While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock.
