Job description

Position Title: Engineer III
The Mechanical Engineer III is a senior-level role focused on the creation and modification of products. This position requires a blend of creativity and technical expertise to solve complex design and production challenges. The engineer will work with minimal supervision and may lead projects, guiding junior engineers and technicians. Responsibilities include establishing product requirements, developing prototypes, and optimizing designs for manufacturing. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and collaboration within the engineering team, contributing to the overall success of the production environment.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $135,000 / Year DOE
Engineer III Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the engineering team, ensuring production efficiency and quality
  • Conduct production health checks and analyze yield, downtime, and quality data
  • Support technicians with troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues
  • Run experiments to enhance yield, cost, and cycle time
  • Coordinate with suppliers for equipment upgrades and new installations
  • Maintain manufacturing documentation and support new product introductions
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts and audits

Engineer III Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within a production environment
  • Expertise in multiple technical disciplines, including rubber, fabrication, and machining
  • Strong project management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Supervisory experience is preferred
  • Hands-on machining experience as a machine technician is preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of the waterworks industry is preferred
