Job description


Honeywell Flight Systems team develops state-of-the-art flight controls for multiple aircraft types, including Air Transport, and Regional (ATR), Business, Regional and General Aviation (BRGA), Electric Vertical Take Off & Land (eVTOL), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), and other aircraft types.
This position will be located in Phoenix, AZ (Deer Valley) within the Flight Systems (FS) department working primarily on the BRGA EPIC/APEX Flight Controls programs. You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Program Manager, and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.
As a Systems Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a critical role in the design, development, testing and certification of flight control systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to significantly impact the development of flight control systems, ensuring their safety, performance, and compliance with industry standards. Your technical expertise in systems engineering will be instrumental in shaping the future of technology and industry solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Support design, development, integration, and verification of avionics systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and develop system requirements, ensuring they are well-defined, complete, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and execute test plans, analyze test results, and drive corrective actions
  • Perform system integration and testing to ensure compliance with requirements and industry standards
  • Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during development and testing
  • Support the certification process for flight controls systems

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 2 years of Systems Engineering or related experience, with experience in Integrated Software Systems.
  • Working knowledge of requirements, integration, and verification

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
