Kinsley Power Systems is seeking a Field Service Supervisor for our Levittown, PA branch. The Field Service Supervisor is a hands-on leadership role responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing standby power generation equipment while supervising and supporting a team of Field Service Technicians. This position blends advanced technical expertise with field leadership, coaching, quality control, and operational coordination.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting with ability to independently repair units. Also, the ability to perform startups on offsite industrial and residential power generation equipment
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of power generation equipment (alternator assemblies, engines, automatic transfer switches, switchgear, load banks and control systems)
  • Diagnose problems/troubleshoot, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Reads/interprets equipment manuals, wiring diagrams and work orders to perform maintenance and service
  • Use a variety of hand/power tools and electrical test equipment in performing  duties to detect faulty parts and submit repair quotes electronically
  • Operate a company service vehicle and perform routine inspection on assigned equipment/vehicles
  • Complete reports, accept assignments, communicate internally and externally via computer-based systems
  • Manage physical inventory of parts and fluids, as well as computerized inventory system
  • Travel and transport of tools, supplies and equipment by vehicle and independently to customer sites, including but not limited to: remote wooded locations, elevated locations with only stair access or elevator accessibility, rooftops, farms, waste water treatment plants, and residential sites – both urban and rural

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Assist Operations Manager with direct supervision of technicians as it relates to daily operation and overall performance
  • Continuously sets the example for others to follow as it relates to safety, technical skills, training, communications, company policy and professional appearance and attitude 
  • Assists with training and development plans for Field Service Technicians, including but not limited to evaluating skills and mentoring technicians
  • Assist in coaching, rewarding and evaluating Field Service Technicians. Including but not limited to, providing input and communicating performance evaluations, recommending merit increases and issuing discipline
  • Ensure adequate field coverage by coordinating backfills for any gap in emergency response or on call coverage
  • This position requires 24/7 availability for technical assistance and emergency service calls both within local markets and throughout the company’s service territory
  • Assists with dispatch planning to insure most economical use of time and equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent), relevant technical training or previous experience accepted
  • Must reside within the posted geographical area or be willing to relocate at own expense
  • Previous experience working on 8.5kW – 2,500kW generators
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain OSHA certification and DOT medical card
  • Possess a strong customer services focus with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with general computer skills and mobile dispatch software, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook. 
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a productive manner in all types of weather conditions and environments
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and on call hours as required
