Job description

Group 1001 is a consumer-centric, technology-driven family of insurance companies on a mission to deliver outstanding value and operational performance by combining financial strength and stability with deep insurance expertise and a can-do culture. Group1001's culture emphasizes the importance of collaboration, communication, core business focus, risk management, and striving for outcomes. This goal extends to how we hire and onboard our most valuable assets - our employees.
Why This Role Matters:
The Annuity Operations Analyst serves as the analytical partner to Inforce and Claims leadership, supporting efficiency, accuracy, and consistent operational execution across the annuity product lifecycle. This role identifies process breakdowns that impact cycle time, transaction accuracy, beneficiary experience, and operational execution against regulatory requirements, quantifies their root causes, and helps operations implement process changes aligned to contract provisions, procedural standards, and internal control expectations defined by Compliance, Legal, and Tax - while providing operational information to support audit inquiries and reducing operational risk in a high-sensitivity, customer-critical function. This role partners across Operations, Product, Technology, Legal, Tax, Compliance, Audit and Accounting Control teams to support business readiness for new products, regulatory changes, and strategic initiatives while providing the operations-side governance and continuous improvement needed to achieve sustainable operational excellence.
What We're Looking For:
Process Improvement & Analytics
  • Identify process breakdowns across annuity operations, perform root-cause analysis on variances, exceptions, and NIGO drivers, and recommend operational corrective actions with quantified outcomes.
  • Map operational processes end-to-end, quantify bottlenecks and waste, and build the business case for improvement initiatives tied to time, cost, quality, and operational performance.
  • Partner with operations leads to design, pilot, and roll out process changes; measure pre/post impact and codify updated operational procedures.
  • Partner with Data / IT / Technology to improve operational data quality at the source and reduce reliance on manual reporting.
  • Act as the analytical partner to operations leadership, translating operational strategic questions into structured analyses and clear recommendations.

Governance & Readiness Support
  • Support driver-based volume forecasting and capacity planning - maintaining transaction rates, workload multipliers, seasonality factors, and productivity standards used by leadership to plan staffing.
  • Help operations leadership maintain the department's operational FMEA and execute against known peak events
  • Support operations-side readiness for product, regulatory, legal, tax, and technology changes led by the functional owners - translating their requirements into updated processes and procedures and partnering with Operations Trainers on any training needs.
  • Produce the operational performance reporting cadence - SLA attainment, First Request Resolution, quality accuracy, productivity, workload multiplier, and forecast vs. actual - for operations leadership and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Serve as the operations-side liaison for Compliance, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Audit, and Risk partners - providing operational context, evidence of execution, and coordinated operations-team responses.

What We're Looking For:
  • 3-5 years' experience analyzing operational process and peformance metrics in the financial services industry is required; annuities is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to process improvement initiatives with quantified outcomes
  • Proven track record in root-cause analysis ideally with Lean Six Sigma concepts
  • 3-5 years experience using reporting tools, building dashboards, and using Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business, Finance or Insurance or equivalent experience
  • Strong anaytical and problem solving skills is required
  • Ability to influence and drive change across functional lines of businesses
