Job Description:
Advanced Practice Providers in a 16-bed acuity-adaptable Pediatric Cardiac Care Center primarily manage critically ill pediatric congenital cardiac patients. The role requires expertise in managing patients with congenital heart disease, including complex anatomy and physiology, within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities include care for high-acuity patients, such as pre- and post-operative pediatric cardiac surgical patients, high-risk single ventricle physiology, and arrhythmia management.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage critically ill pediatric congenital cardiac patients in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Provide care for pre- and post-operative pediatric cardiac surgical patients.
  • Manage high-risk single ventricle physiology, open chest management, arrhythmia management, and vasopressor support.
  • Occasionally care for adult patients with congenital heart disease and PICU boarder patients.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in Pediatric Cardiac ICU as an APP.
  • Knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and physiology.
  • Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, active New York State Registered Nurse license, active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure, and current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • BLS from AHA.
  • PALS from ABA.
  • Preferred: Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification.
