What is a flex schedule video game tester?

A Flex Schedule Video Game Tester is responsible for playing and evaluating video games to identify bugs, glitches, and other issues before release. Testers follow provided guidelines, document their findings, and report issues to developers. Strong attention to detail and a passion for gaming are essential.

What does a flex schedule video game tester do?

As a Flex Schedule Video Game Tester, your hours can vary and often align with project deadlines, allowing you to work outside the traditional 9-to-5 structure. Testers may coordinate with their team or lead to determine the best times for collaboration, but much of the work can be completed independently and during off-peak hours. This flexible arrangement can be ideal for students, parents, or those seeking supplemental income. However, during critical release phases, overtime or weekend work may occasionally be required to ensure thorough testing before launch.

To thrive as a Flex Schedule Video Game Tester, you need keen attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and proficiency in identifying and documenting software bugs, often supported by experience or a background in gaming or software quality assurance. Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as JIRA or TestRail, along with a basic understanding of different gaming platforms and consoles, is important. Excellent communication skills, reliability, and the ability to manage time independently are standout soft skills in this flexible role. These abilities ensure thorough testing, clear reporting, and effective collaboration with development teams, all of which are critical for improving game quality.

Join Our Team as a Store Manager at Disc Replay!

Do you enjoy leading teams, helping others grow, having autonomy in your position, hitting metrics and sharing in the profits when you succeed? If so, you could be a great fit for our Store Manager position at Disc Replay!

At Disc Replay, we buy and sell video games, movies, electronics, and collectibles. Our customers bring us cool stuff all day long. We pay cash on the spot to buy their stuff and then we resell it to others. Disc Replay is a great environment to be in for video gamers, movie buffs, and those into pop culture.

  • Good with numbers. We'll teach you what our margin goals are, how to calculate cost of goods, etc. We just need you to be able to learn and retain that knowledge.

If you think that you would thrive in this type of environment, we'd love to hear from you!
