Job description

Overview

Provides expertise in vascular assessment, deciding on appropriate device for patient specific needs.  Provides PIV for difficult access, inserts Midlines and EJ devices when needed.  Provides a teaching environment at bedside as needed.

Qualifications

Education: ADN or BSN from an accredited school of nursing or university required.  Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the Alabama State Board of Nursing.

Experience: Current role as IV RN preferred.  Recent nursing experience required.

Additional Skills/Abilities: BLS certification required.  Extensive experience with all types of vascular access devices preferred.  Excellent communication skills, time management  and critical thinking are expected.
