Job description

Position Summary:
We are currently hiring HCSR-II (Health Care Service Representative) which are Medical Assistants who possess their National CCMA and/or National Phlebotomy Technician credentials for our School Based Health Care Centers in the Bronx. We are presently hiring for 2 of our locations, one is a middle school, and one is a high school.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant AND National Certification as Phlebotomy Technician required OR Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), required.
  • Candidates with previous experience in a health care or school based setting strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children and adolescents, a strong plus.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of taking vital signs, phlebotomy, and medical administration tasks.

Key Duties:
  • Process blood draws. Collects specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Prepare examination rooms and equipment.
  • Participates in health and wellness activities and health education when required.
  • Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.
  • Completes referrals and discharges patients.
  • Assists providers and nurses during all aspects of exams.
  • Assist provider during visit with treatments, examinations, and procedures.
  • Schedules appointments, verifies insurance and demographic information.
  • Processes diagnostic orders.

Compensation: $23.00/hour ($47,840 annually); and $1,500.year in additional differential pay.

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:
This is an onsite position based in the Bronx, NY with a required schedule of Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
