Job description

Flex-O-Glass is a leading plastics manufacturer and third generation family-owned company with over 100 years of business experience. We extrude plastic products, primarily films, but also sheet and profile. Our company promotes a family friendly atmosphere, broad diversity and welcoming environment to our team. Our company is currently searching for members to join our Production team as a Windup Operator who will work to provide support across our plant. This position will work within a team of other production staff and will be based in our Chicago, IL facility. This role will require candidates to be able to work 12-hour shifts. We are currently taking applications for our day turn schedule of 7am - 7:15pm and nighttime schedule which is 7pm - 7:15am. Crews work three 12-hour shifts one week and then alternate to four 12-hour shifts following week providing 8-hours of overtime.
Key Role and Responsibilities:
  • Folds, winds, cuts, processes, and packages all finished products
  • Properly handles all scrap material from machine
  • Maintains supply of all components
  • Controls speed and settings of wind-up equipment
  • Working on or next to dies
  • Properly threads machines
  • Properly cleans around equipment and surrounding area
  • Upon direction, adjusts speed and temperatures, operates switches, valves and other adjustments on equipment

Skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to lift products ranging from 2 pounds to 60 pounds
  • Ability to read measuring devices and basic math skills

Applicant must be able to pass pre-employment screening, background check, physical and drug screening (including marijuana) processes to be eligible for employment.
