Flex is the diversified manufacturing partner of choice that helps market-leading brands design, build and deliver innovative products that improve the world.

A career at Flex offers the opportunity to make a difference and invest in your growth in a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment. If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.

Job Summary:

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we're calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an EH&S Engineer 4 to our team.

Reporting to the EH&S Manager, the EH&S Engineer 4 will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs across the site. This role provides the opportunity to drive strategic EH&S initiatives, influence organizational safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and support sustainable business practices. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to site leadership while partnering across functions to create a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

  • Lead site-wide environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing workplace risks, improving environmental performance, and strengthening site safety culture.
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections, audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses, ensuring timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with operations, facilities, engineering, and leadership teams to evaluate new equipment, processes, and facility changes for EH&S compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Lead regulatory reporting, compliance activities, employee training programs, contractor safety management, and sustainability projects while providing guidance to site personnel and management.
The Experience We're Looking to Add to the Team
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, hazardous materials management, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and emergency response programs.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing EH&S programs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, compliance audits, and corrective action management.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Experience supporting sustainability initiatives, environmental management systems, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Strong analytical, communication, training, and presentation skills with the ability to engage employees, customers, regulatory agencies, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements, technical standards, and corporate policies to business operations.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 7+ years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including experience leading programs, projects, or people.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, OSHA certifications, Emergency Medical Certification, or Hazmat training are preferred.
  • Demonstrates expert operational, technical, and leadership capabilities with the ability to drive strategic EH&S objectives across the site and influence broader organizational goals.
At Flex, we welcome people of all backgrounds. Our employees thrive here by living our values: we support each other as we strive to find a better way, we move fast with discipline and purpose, and we do the right thing always.

Through a respectful, inclusive and collaborative culture, a career at Flex offers the opportunity to make a difference, invest in your career growth and join our purpose to make great products that create value and improve people's lives.
