Job description

Sr Software Engineer - Forward Deployed Engineer

The Sr Software Engineer - Forward Deployed Engineer is responsible for data and AI development using a variety of technologies and tools to build impactful software solutions. The scope of this job includes building and optimizing comprehensive solutions that prioritize end-user teammates efficiency and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner and consult with WellSky's teammates to identify areas where efficiencies can be built using Artificial Intelligence.
  • Lead the design and architecture of major systems and services, and ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and teammates to define and prioritize technical requirements that meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure sustained quality and reliability of solutions and act as a go-to expert by identifying and resolving complex, high-priority issues in both development and production environments.
  • Actively contribute to solution reviews, provide constructive feedback on design and implementation, and provide technical guidance to other engineers to elevate skills, productivity, and overall effectiveness.
  • Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing new technologies, methodologies, and AI capabilities that improve team efficiency, software performance, and development processes.
  • Ensure the solutions meets functional and performance requirements, advocate for high-quality software solution, and ensure rigorous testing processes, including automated unit tests, integration tests, and other testing frameworks.
  • Design and implement data pipelines to centralize operational data, enabling team members to efficiently access and utilize business information for informed decision-making.
  • Promote awareness of AI at WellSky by sharing information about AI and providing training for teammates on AI solutions and practices.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 4-6 years relevant work experience
  • Proficient in liaising with business stakeholders to gain comprehensive insights into business processes and develop tailored data and AI solutions.
  • Capable of learning and implementing new technologies for deployment at an enterprise scale.
  • Ability to build data pipelines using Python and other data ingestion tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge about Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Built or deployed LLM- or generative-powered systems using
  • Healthcare industry experience
Job Expectations:
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
  • Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
  • Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
