Job Description: Environmental Technician (EVS)

Environmental Technician Job Summary: The EVS Technician assists with departmental goals to ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position will directly handle and monitor indoor environments including waste and bio-waste for collection, transportation, and storing. Other duties include the performance, coordination, and/or assistance of routine cleaning, sanitation and other housekeeping tasks as assigned.

Environmental Technician Responsibilities:

  • Cleans assigned areas to meet infection control and compliance standards and assists team members in completion of tasks.

  • Creates daily job lists and records all serviced rooms; reports any shortages, damages, or security issues.

  • Maintains equipment in good condition.

  • Handles reasonable guests’ complaints/requests and informs others when required, and fosters an environment that exemplifies the Hospital’s Mission, Vision, and C.A.R.E values.

  • Complies with health and safety regulations and abides with company and department policies and licensing laws.

Environmental Technician Skills / Experience / Education:

  • Preferred 2 years’ experience in similar field.

  • Ability to work in a team setting or independently.

  • Prioritization and time management skills and adequate communication skills.

  • Can pay attention to details.

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
