Description

This position is currently filled, however we are accepting applications for Ready Replacement Pool consideration. 


Prevailance is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to support the evaluation of Surface Force readiness databases, improving the ability to generate ships for tasking. The successful candidate will leverage advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and a strong understanding of Surface Warfare readiness to enhance the Type Commander's insight into fleet readiness issues.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and evaluate Surface Force readiness databases to improve operational efficiency and readiness
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and bridge data gaps, ensuring accurate and comprehensive reporting
  • Utilize metrics from the PESTONI framework (Personnel, Equipment, Supply, Training, Ordnance, Infrastructure/Networks) to develop insights
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Surface Force business practices, both from organic and non-organic data sources
  • Design data visualization tools and predictive models to support decision-making at all levels
  • Present complex findings to senior leadership through detailed reports and presentations
  • Continuously monitor and improve database design and management processes

Requirements

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in database design and management
  • At least 2 years of experience in data analysis for complex projects, particularly within the context of military operations
  • Previous experience in a United States Navy Engineering or Combat Systems Department-related billet at sea is required

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to manage large datasets and create detailed visualizations
  • Familiarity with the PESTONI pillars of analysis and readiness metrics

Additional Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to inform the development of data visualization tools and predictive modeling needs
  • Knowledge of Surface Force's business practices and data requirements
