Job description

Job Summary:
The Service Flat Rate Technician at Seidel Hyundai in Reading, Pennsylvania is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry. As an individual contributor, this role is responsible for performing skilled labor and maintenance tasks on vehicles to ensure efficient and timely completion of all service and repairs. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of auto mechanics and possess the necessary skills to perform a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, such as oil changes and tire rotations, on all types of vehicles
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and diagnose any issues or potential problems
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and troubleshoot complex system malfunctions
- Perform repairs and replacements of various vehicle components, including but not limited to brakes, engines, and transmissions
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and accurately, following manufacturer and dealership guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and other team members to keep them informed of progress on repairs
- Continuously expand knowledge and skills through training and development programs
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing duties
- Meet productivity and efficiency standards set by the dealership
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician
- Strong knowledge of automotive mechanics and repair techniques
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as tires and vehicle parts
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
