Summary: Assistant Store Manager reports to the Store Manager. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for

assisting the Store Manager in the overall operation, cleanliness, maintenance, inventory and cash control , completion of

daily paperwork, managing employees and assuming the responsibility of the Store Manager during his/her absence.


Essential Sales Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of the CSR and Assistant Store Manager positions.
  • Provide continued training, education, and development of all employees assigned to the store.
  • Be able to troubleshoot and resolve problems during a shift close and daily close.
  • Provide prompt, courteous customer service and resolve customer issues.
  • Conduct initial interviews and make recommendation to the Store Manager.
  • Conduct disciplinary discussions in Store Manager’s absence.
  • When asked or needed, assume Store Manager responsibilities.
  • Complete and monitor employee schedule during Store Manager’s absence.
  • Review and submit employee time cards into the payroll system.
  • Complete, enter and submit a weekly grocery order.
  • Protect Company inventory and assets at all times by following asset control policies.
  • Ability to open and close the store if applicable or in case of an emergency.
  • The ability to complete daily bad merchandise/markdowns.
  • Ability to aid the Store Manager in controlling cash, inventory and expenses.
  • Ability to complete all clerical and record-keeping duties.
  • Assists Store Manager in special assignments and projects.
  • Review build-to’s and make/suggest the necessary adjustments to ensure the store is in stock and meeting our customer’s needs.
  • Assists in conducting competitive price surveys.
  • Reviews vendor’s build-to’s and work with the vendor in placing a complete order.
  • Report any unsafe, damaged, or non-functioning equipment on a timely basis.
  • In the Store Manager’s absence, manage a safety incident or injury.
  • The Assistant Store Manager may be asked to participate in any other related task or activity which management determines his/her skills would be useful or needed.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications and Prerequisites

  • Works as scheduled by the Store Manager. Schedule must be flexible to include being available to work all shifts and all days of the week. Work week may exceed 40 hours per week. Be available in the Store Manager’s absence (i.e. vacation).
  • Ability to recruit, interview, and suggest for employment potential employees.
  • Computer literate, ability to use a computer and company specific software.
  • Must have proven people skills (motivates employees in a team environment to serve the customers and empathetically resolves conflict.)
  • A team player, high integrity and respected by his/her employees.
  • Takes responsibility and has high standards for safety, cleanliness and food preparation.
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving/analytical skills and pays attention to details.
  • Must have completed the Assistant Store Manager Training Phase.
